What is RIC?
Organized by NUS-related institutions in association with industry leaders, the
Medical-themed robotics competition
For AI enthusiasts from
Primary to high school students
Through online and offline competition programs:
Demonstrate technical solution skills and gain insights into the medical, aerospace and other technology industries and their workings.
The Four Pillars of RIC
Professional Design
- Designed by NUS faculty and experts in the industry to review the healthcare theme.
- It is scientifically rigorous, yet simplified to make it easier for youngsters to understand.
- Through hands-on robotics solutions, students will not only have fun innovating, but also gain a deeper understanding of healthcare scenarios and the mechanisms behind them.
Strategic Thinking
- To help participants adapt to the complexity of real-world problems, RIC has designed a series of robotic tasks to evaluate different aspects of robotic solutions.
- Rather than finding a one-size-fits-all solution, participants are asked to weigh the trade-offs within given constraints, similar to the way problems are solved in the real world.
- This process helps participants to move from a "perfect score" mindset in school to a practical application mindset based on strategic optimization.
Global Citizenship
- As an international platform, RIC brings together participants from different backgrounds to present their unique ways of thinking and solutions.
- Through careful observation and active discussion. Through careful observation and active discussion, RIC encourages all participants to keep an open mind and keep learning new ideas.
- In the context of globalization, RIC helps students to communicate with global talents at an early stage, laying the foundation for future career development.
Technological Solutions Competency
- RIC believes that practice is as important as creativity, and requires students to demonstrate their innovative ideas through technology-driven products.
- By building physical solutions, participants are able to identify missing details and refine them through continuous optimization and iteration.
- RIC encourages students to pay attention to detail and utilize cutting-edge technology products to achieve real social impact.
Towards the Future
To date, 1000+ teams from 15+ countries have registered to compete in the event
The organizing committee has set the following development directions for RIC 2025.
- Create a stunning experience Join hands with industry partners to showcase cutting-edge technology solutions, allowing participants to broaden their horizons and gain an in-depth understanding of technological innovation.
- Enrich the Learning Journey Help participants to improve their technical design and presentation skills, enhance their overall quality, and lay a foundation for future development.
- Expanding the impact of the event Attracting more beginners, covering students from all over Asia, and encouraging more female learners to participate, so that science and technology education can reach a wider group of people.
